Consent & Communication

Why Changing Your Mind Is Part of Consent

Untied ribbon and open clasp symbolizing the freedom to pause or change your mind.

A change of mind is not a broken promise. In adult communication, it is often evidence that someone is paying attention to themselves. A person can be interested, then uncertain. They can agree to explore an idea, then decide it no longer fits. That agency deserves to remain intact.

Choice has to stay available

Consent has meaning only when a person can revise it without punishment, embarrassment, or pressure. The ability to pause protects the quality of every later yes. It makes choices feel chosen rather than extracted.

This is true in private conversations and in custom work. A quote is an invitation to decide, not a reason to rush. It is reasonable to ask more questions, change a design direction, or step away before payment.

Make revisions ordinary

When revisions are treated as normal, communication becomes clearer. Instead of hiding doubt, people can name it. Instead of guessing, they can ask. That is a quieter and more durable form of trust.

Use the custom quote form when you want to explore an idea with no pressure to proceed. More reflective notes are available in the Journal.
