Material Guide

Wood, acrylic, leather, and resin: choosing the right material

Materials change the whole mood of a handmade piece. Solid wood feels warm and individual. Acrylic brings color and translucency. Leather gives structure and hardware presence. Resin can carry layered color, flakes, or small decorative details.

Solid wood

Wood is best when the grain is part of the design. It can be polished, sealed, and shaped, but it should be kept dry and stored away from long heat exposure.

Acrylic and resin

Acrylic is useful for bright colors and smooth surfaces. Resin is more expressive and can include layered visual effects. Both should be photographed clearly because color can shift under different lighting.

Leather and metal

Leather pieces depend on thickness, edge treatment, lining, and hardware. Metal details should be checked for finish, weight, and skin-contact comfort before production starts.
